Earthquake Kills 2 in Serbia

A 5.3-magnitude tremor has shaken central Serbia killing two people, interior minister Ivica Dacic said.

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the quake’s epicentre was two kilometres north of the city of Kraljevo, about 150 kilometres south-west of the capital Belgrade.

Local health authorities say at least 15 people have been hurt in and around Kraljevo, a city of about 70,000 people.

Eyewitnesses say buildings have been damaged and parts of the town have been left without electricity or running water.

The quake was also felt in Belgrade.
