Locusts Make it to Tasmania

Australian plague locusts have been found on the north-west coast of Tasmania. There have been at least three sightings of small numbers on beaches and in crops.

Locust Spraying Ends Across SA

Aerial spraying of locusts across South Australia has officially ended. A control centre at Loxton in the Riverland has now closed after another at Orroroo was closed at the end of last week.

Locusts Reap Crops Before Farmers

The South Australian Farmers Federation president, Peter White, says locusts are starting to eat crops before they can be harvested. Aerial spraying was cancelled on Friday and Saturday because of rain but will continue through the week.
