5.4 Quake off Java: No Tsunami

JAKARTA, Dec. 7, 2010 (Xinhua News Agency) — A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit off Indonesia’s Central Java province on early Tuesday at 01:53 a.m. local time (1853 GMT on Monday), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said.

The earthquake was centered at 411 km southwest of Cilacap regency and at depth of 10 km under seabed.

The agency did not release a tsunami warning.
