6.1 Quake Hits Indonesia no Tsunami

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred on Friday in eastern Indonesia, the archipelago Molucelor, but no tsunami alert has been issued, officials announced.

No injury was not reported immediately after the earthquake, according to those sources.

Indonesia has been hit in late October by a series of disasters, an earthquake followed by tsunami and volcanic eruption of Merapi, which caused the death total of over 600 people.

Over 400 people have died in the Mentawai Islands in western Indonesia after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake produced on 25 October which was followed by a powerful tsunami.

On the other hand, almost 200 people have been killed since the beginning of Merapi volcano eruption on 26 October, on the island of Java.
